For blind and visually impaired short film fans we have really good news.<\/span><\/p>\n Finally there is an app<\/strong> which starts the audio description<\/strong> without delay at the same time as the film! Usually the regular app takes about a minute until running synchronously – which is a real problem with short films. The development of the new app is in its final test phase and we are proud that our audience can try the app during the festival.<\/p>\n The KLAPPE AUF! short film festival with its many years of experience was instrumental in the development process of the app. Agnes Nuber from the KLAPPE AUF! team has devised the app together with software engineer Hubert Popiolek, and was responsible for the development on behalf of\u00a0AG Kurzfilm.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n It was a very exciting process for us to witness this new development in the transmission of audio description.<\/p>\n How does adOHRi work?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Download adOHRi for free onto your mobile phone. Take your personal headphones into the movie theatre and start the app. The audio description will be transferred to your phone on which you can also change the volume so that you can experience the original film sound via the audio system of the movie theatre and the audio description from your headphones.<\/p>\n The app only works if your headphones are plugged in. The sound will not be transmitted through the mobile phone speakers.
