Tourette-Program

Sonntag 28.08.2022, 2:30 pm

We have an image in our heads of Tourette syndrome – uncontrolled swearing and insults and similar movements – which doesn’t do the variety of tics justice. Together with Fabiene Hohl, the chairwoman of LifeTiccer e.V., musician Jean-Marc Lorber, filmmaker Thomas Oswald and Daniel Weber who is part of Oswald’s film “TICS – with Tourette to Lapland”, we want to find out what it means to live with tics and discuss with the audience.

Two short films, an excerpt from the film “TICS” and live music are part of the program.

Guests:

Jean-Marc Lorber – Jean has Tourette syndrome and is a musician, together with Fabiene he is committed to LifeTiccer e.V., an association for people with tics and Tourette’s as well as their families and anyone who is interested.

Fabiene Hohl – Fabiene is chairwoman of LifeTiccer e.V. For her the work of LifeTiccer e.V. is about the opportunity for people with tics and their families to meet, exchange experiences and to gather strength. She can be their contact person and counsellor after the diagnosis, and she educates the general public.

Daniel Weber – Daniel is a performer in Thomas Oswald’s film “TICS”. He has Tourette’s and joined the documentary film project to investigate his own Tourette syndrome and find out about new research and treatment methods.

Thomas Oswald – Thomas is a cinematographer and filmmaker who studied with Wim Wenders at HfbK Hamburg. He allows us to show an excerpt of his new documentary “TICS – with Tourette to Lapland”. He himself doesn’t have Tourette’s, but how this condition is handled by society interests him very much.
